UGREEN NASync DXP — Japan's first reward campaign past ¥1 billion

Conclusion: a ¥1M goal → ~¥1.02B from 16,849 backers — Japan's first reward campaign over ¥1B (2025, funded).

Why it's a landmark

UGREEN's personal cloud-storage NAS line “NASync DXP” (DXP2800 / DXP4800 Plus / DXP6800 Pro), brought to Japan by Focalpoint on GREEN FUNDING. Against a ¥1M goal it took ¥1,022,625,414 from 16,849 backers — the first reward crowdfunding campaign in Japan to pass ¥1 billion, and GREEN AWARD 2025's top project of the year.

What moved people

A clear value — your own cloud with no subscription — plus a multi-model lineup and a blistering open (goal in 4 minutes, ¥200M in ~3 hours). It's also a reverse-import, having first cleared ¥1B in the US.

Editor's note (as a success story)

A symbolic case that lifted the ceiling by an order of magnitude. But crowdfunding is a pre-order, not a risk-free purchase. For a NAS, warranty, support and continued security updates are what to verify. It now ships at retail — check the support terms before buying. This project has ended.
