il modo Air — Makuake's all-time No.1 wallet, ultra-thin

Conclusion: a ¥300k goal → over ¥226M, Makuake's top-ever wallet (2025, funded).

Why it was hot

The latest in a line of ultra-thin long wallets hand-finished by Japanese craftsmen. By distributing cards both vertically and horizontally it reduces overlap to stay thin even when full. It cleared ¥100M within five days on Makuake and finished over ¥226M from 10,000+ backers — the all-time record for Makuake's wallet category.

What moved people

Trust built by the prior model (“il modo ZIP,” ~¥84M) plus a single, legible value: thinness. Made-in-Japan handwork gave confidence even at a premium price.

Editor's note

A textbook physical-product win: one clear value, backed by a maker with a track record. This project has ended (Mar 9 – Jun 5, 2025). For a checklist on judging wallet, gadget and design campaigns like this one before you back, see our guide: Backing a design product.
